GUSTAV:((

It is Sunday, around 9pm. Gustav should be here by morning. Things right now are OK. It is raining and a little wind. Things are supposed to deteriorate quickly. We will keep posting every hour or so until we lose power and Internet.

Due to the phone calls from my neighbor to the police, our dear rooster has been captured and release elsewhere!. What a weirdo! Who calls the police on a CHICKEN???

Our family will probably be staying put for this storm. I will update every now and then and try to post pictures also. keep us in your prayers. Shawn has driven me nuts today. I think the only channel we watched was the Weather Channel. Now you have to know that growing up we woke up and went to be to the weather channel. So this was a very familar thing. However, he really lost it when he stepped outside to "check the wind". I just cracked up! Understand that this is Saturday and the storm doesn't make landfall until WEDNESDAY! Like i said , please keep us in your prayers!

Prayer

Please be in prayer for my older sisters family. They found out yesterday that her husband, scott, will be deployed before christmas. he is set to retire next year. pray that he stays safe.

Our Rooster!

Last week as I was leaving our house, which is in the city, I walked out the front door and saw this Rooster! Suprisingly, it is showing up! William named him chicken oatmeal!

38 Years

I have been meaning to do this for a week or so now. So here it goes. 38 things about Shawn for his 38th birthday.

1-He is absolutely the best thing that has ever happened to me.

2-He is very smart

3- Hates to open "pop" biscuits from the can

4- Snores like there is no tommorow!

5-Has a very good sense of direction!

6- Admits when he is wrong, even it is days later!

7- Is better with our boys than I am

8- The biggest redneck I know!

9- Can fix anything without reading directions

10- Very thoughtful

11- Picks out the best presents. He really does put alot of time into it

12-Hates a messy house

13- Has to have the thermostat on 72 or lower

14- A very good deer and turkey hunter

15- Is like a little kid when it comes to his birthday and Christmas! He always tries to figure out what his presents are. Even quizzes the kids!

16-Loves the Lord with his whole heart

17- Plays some guitar

18- Very patient with me and the boys

19-Misses his old college friends badly

20- Would love to go on a guided elk hunt or something like that

21- Misses living in the country

22- The best husband and daddy EVER!

23- Wakes up at the butt crack of dawn everyday, even on his off days!

24- Put his mind to something and gets after it!

25- Can make friends with a fence post!

28- Wants his boys to grow up with the daddy he never had

30- Gets frustrated with his coworkers when they act stupid

First Day of School & Birthday

Today was the first day of school and also my 28th birthday. Everything went really well. We got up this morning, Andrew and Adam were excited! Andrew is in the 4th grade and Adam is in the 3rd grade. William started preschool this year because I have some day classes at the college. I start my fall classes on Aug 21. My grades came in on Monday, and I received all A's!! I never thought that I could make A's!! Hopefully this semester will be as good as the last! Pray for me!
